Okay, I am 11 days into my 30 day paleo challenge.
I have been strictly following the rules, no dairy, no wheat, no sugar, etc.
I have lost 5 lbs. I haven't been hungry. My body feels as good and strong as ever.
Now, on to the dark side the paleo folks dont want you to know about. First and foremost, there is something you arent allowed to eat everywhere and tempation is stupid. Its so bad I am actually having dreams about pastries and baked goods finding their sweet way into my mouth. Needless to say, I have made it this far and want to remain sceintific about it and open, so I am always releived when I wake up and I didnt really cheat. Second **warning** this may be considered TMI, so you might not want to read on....but....Paleo makes you poo. A lot. For the first three days I was pooing at least three times a day. And it wasnt like I had to struggle to go or that it wasnt a good amount, because it WAS. I asked my crossfit coach if this was normal (after getting up the guts to go up to a man and ask him if my bowels were functioning correctly or if I got into some bad almond butter) and he assured me it was my body cleansing out all the bad things I had put into it prior to this challenge. I also had my body fat percentage taken and it was at 22 percent. I know, thats normal, but it still seems pretty high to me, especially considering the level of exercise and the kinds of food I am eating. Will I stay paleo forever? At this moment, I have to say, no. I am guessing at some point with the media and just general saturation of breads and sugars, there is no way I will have enough willpower to refrain forever. 19 days left in the challenge.
*workout of the day-one pull up, first minute, two pullups second minute, three pullups third minute and so on to as many as you can get in that full minute. I made it to eight minutes completed with NO assistance, no underhanded grips, no bands, and no jumping. I am a super hero! Ha ha.
