Tomorrow is supposed to be my last doctor visit for the broken foot/toe. It still gives me grief when running or jumping and I hope he has good news about it, because I have some things planned!! If you werent brave enough to click on the link, then just know that I have signed up for a 24 hour walk/run relay for life to benefit cancer research. It really sounds like it will be a fun event, even though a bit tiring. I wanted originally to sign up for the team in training that the american cancer society has, you know running marathons and such, but I was too intimidated. I wonder, if I am intimidated (I mean seriously, I am in pretty good shape) what kind of super athletes do they have signing up? Maybe I can get to know some folks and get more comfortable and some more information on the team. I am also looking into donating my long hair to locks for love, but I have been told they wont take it if its been dyed. Well, I am all for a good cause, but no way will I be able to go a year without washing away the gray!!
I have talked to the SWAT commander, and it looks like the process will start again next fall. Now I have a new *distant* goal (blargh!) but I need to find a closer one. I am hoping the working out with my girlfriend will help keep me motivated and inspired to push myself to my own limits again. I am also seriously considering repelling for the fun of it. I dont know if thats how you spell it, but its basically scaling down the sides of tall things with small ropes. I am afraid of heights and this might help me get over that. So, the breakdown is this; super short term goal, relay for life this Saturday. Sort of short term goal, 10 pull ups and 60 push ups. Next goal, a full marathon this November. Of course at any other time in there, throw in the fact I really really want to get a muscle up and keep up with my crossfitting until I am as cool and strong as the chicks on the website.
