I am currently in the process of attempting to make my best girlfriend addicted to crossfit. As long as I can keep her interested and not super duper sore, maybe she will come along with me and love cross-fitting.
She has done three crossfit workouts now and I hope she keeps it up. Of course, today she asked when she will be seeing some results... that worries me a little. I realize that the younger generation are the instant gratification generation, but after just three days? Really? I told her she really needs to re-examine her diet as well if she wants some quick results and she said she has been trying to eat healthy. We went to dinner tonite where she got a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and a sweet tea. Not exactly what I meant by healthy, I really have to find a way to convince her that processed food is the devil and just because it says "salad" in the title it doesnt make it healthy. Also, organic doesnt equal diet or low cal. Sigh. I wish I had my own diet under control, it would make it a lot easier to harp on her. I have considered going to a dietician, but how on earth do you pick one of those? I have personally seen obese dieticians and those who eat french fries and bad for you foods. I realize that they are just weak people like myself deep down with the desires to become all consumed with cherry garcia ice cream, but I guess I expect more. I mean, seriously, people expect me as a cop to practice what I preach right? You dont see me out robbing places or breaking the law... well maybe the occaisional speeding but other than that, I dont even park in the no parking zones! Maybe I should just keep doing what I am doing and suffer with the lapses in judgement at the deliciousness of some bad for me foods.

when I was a personal trainer back in the DAY I oft had clients who would get miffed with me when they didnt see changes after 3 sessions :)
From what I saw it was less a generational thing and more a personality type.
